I have googled for this and I'm still no nearer...!
My windows 2003 server died, due to psu, motherboard and cpu failure.
I moved the hard disk to another machine and ran a windows repair
installation.
This resulted in a working Windows 2003 server with a few errors in
event viewer.
I assumed this was due to me reinstalling with the original 2003 CD
and the old install being SP1.
So I installed SP1 and did a windows update, everything seems to be
going well.
But now I get an error when I try and access Windows Firewall either
from control panel or via the connection -> advanced -> Windows
Firewall tab.
I get: "Due to an unidentified problem, Windows cannot display Windows
Firewall Settings". Nothing is logged in Event Viewer.
Since a reboot the firewall is active and blocking ALL Ports. My Mail
& FTP Servers are blocked !
From a command prompt I have managed to disable the firewall with
"netsh firewall set opmode disable" so at least my mail and FTP server
will work... But I still can't access the firewall config.
If I reboot the server the firewall is active and ALL Ports are
blocked again.
How do I re install or reset the firewall so I can access it via the
GUI ?? This will then allow me to configure it as needed..
I hope this is enough information.
Thanks
