I have heard that Orange will remove the SIM lock for a contract SPV-M5000
for around £20.00. Is this true ? I thought they wouldn't unlock until you
either pay the remaining line rental due for the remainder of the contract
or if the 1 year contract has passed ??

A brilliant handset, but I wish I could use other SIM card with it

The unlock fee is £20 but you will be asked to pay your remaining years
line rent la in full with a credit or debit card.

Mate unlocked his orange branded phone (6630) a while back via orange and he
wasn't asked to pay any remaining line rental, he just paid the required
unlock fee and carried on with his contract.

Would you also get the 5% discount for paying your line rental for the
year up front?
