Anyone know where to look up what the bios error messages on my 600e
systemboard means?

It gives an error: DEV-001 ERR-91 FRU-3610

I googled it and found someone who said it meant that his HDD had linux
installed on it but I somehow doubt that a BIOS error on the Mobo could mean
this. Does it mean that the mobo is dead?

A quick Google search on "thinkpad 600e DEV-001 ERR-91 FRU-3610" revealed:

All of which seem to refer to either the main or CMOS battery. Take a
read, might just be a good place to start.

The Hardware Maintenance Manual has this information. Download link

FRU-3610 indicates problem with Battery Pack or System Board. I
believe this is the main battery, not the CMOS backup battery.

Yes, although the problem seems to be with the battery, no combination of
either batteries in or out will make this problem go away. I wonder if the
system board is completely dead beyond resuscitation?

If you press F1 at the beginning of the boot sequence, can you get into
the BIOS EZ setup menu? If so, run the system diagnostic there.

My best guess is that you need a new motherboard. I would be careful
about reusing the batteries you already have. A bad battery can ruin
the motherboard, and a bad motherboard can ruin a battery. Take a look
on e-bay for any parts you may need for your 600E.
