Where to find 4:3 screens? Martyn Tindall 03-11-2008

I'm afraid it may be time for me to look for a new laptop to replace
my ageing Toshiba. Can you still get them with "proper" screens (4:3
aspect ratio) or are they no longer made? Any suggestions as to where
I might find one will be most welcome. I don't fancy Ebay, but I
believe some dealers stock older PCs - I just don't know any names.
Ideally, I'd like a quality machine (I was wondering about a Thinkpad)
just to use for Word, Excel, email, the Web and with my digital
camera. Built-in CD writer and DVD player desirable but not vital.

TIA,

A very few models with 4:3 screens are still made, but they are
definitely a tiny fraction of the overall models available. Look more
for business products than consumer products (and the business products
tend to be harder to find and are not always available at retail). Also
look for models with screen sizes below 15" and you may find a few more
4:3 screens.

Thanks, Barry - you've confirmed my worst fears!

Lenovo T61 has a 14.1 inch 4:3 aspect ratio model.
I believe Dell has one with a 15.4" screen
