interesting. I subsequently found some stuff in \Windows\ActiveSync,
such as CtrlLog.txt - is this relevant? I don't have a \Windows\Temp folder
on my PPC - only \Windows\Temporary Internet Files.

Using the login where activesync runs;

START/RUN/CMD/SET

...then, looking at the result, determine what TMP and TEMP show for
locations and check there.

I'm pretty sure ActiveSync keeps several log files. They have names
like wces*.log. And they are almost certainly in a Temp folder.

The default location for the Temp folder depends on Windows version.
And at least some users move it. Some may even have two folders. You
can find it (or them) in any of a few ways:

Method 1
Look for a file called wcescomm.log

Method 2
a) Right click on My Computer
b) Choose Properties
c) Choose Advanced tab
d) Click Environment Variables
e) In top list (for you), choose Temp or Tmp
NOTE: Temp and Tmp should almost always be the same. I assume some
programs use one and some the other.

Method 3 (for folks who know about DOS boxes)
a) issue the command "set temp"
b) issue the command "set tmp"
See previous note about Temp and Tmp

Just to make sure: are you guys talking about a PC's file structure? I'm not
dealing with a PC at all - I'm doing over-the-air sync from my PPC to an
exchange server directly over the network. The steps that you're talking
about look like they apply to a Windows PC. Am I wrong? I'm looking to find
(and interpret!) logs from the *PPC* activesync.

Thanks,

Mike
