Where does AlphaImageLoader come from?

Hello,

I have an application that uses Crystal Reports to generate a html
formated report.

This application is installed on two machines. On one machine all the
images are referenced using the normal IMG tag, whilst on the other I
get a AlphaImageLoader reference.

Is this some operating/explorer setting, some latest patch from
Microsoft, or what? Why the different html?

Try some Googling. The _first_ hit is a reference to the Microsoft
documentation of the AlphaImageLoader filter (which has nothing to do
with HTML, really):
