When will support come out - Windows Mobile!? internetrush 09-11-2007

Why can’t I sync Windows mail, calendar or contacts? Windows Mobile Device
Center only supports synchronization with Microsoft Outlook or Exchange. We
currently do not support synchronization with Windows Mail, Windows Calendar
or the Windows Address book.

-------------------

The question above is from microsofts website, however they forget to
mention IF AT ALL or when they are going to allow that, if i have to hard
reset my phone right now i LOSE all of my contacts... That is unacceptable, i
"UPGRADED" to windows vista, they should be able to provide me with at least
contacts backup.

Please is there anyone who knows a date that can be assigned to when they
will un-screw the windows mobile device center and allow me to have some data
security?

Thank you.

To be fair, Activesync (the XP precursor to WMDC) didn't sync with
Outlook Express (the XP precursor to Windows Mail, Contacts, and
Calendar) either, so it's not like WMDC lost any sync functionality
that AS had.

No one knows when or even if.

As to your data backup problem, why not use a free Exchange account
from mail2web.com? It will provide safe PIM backup, and the ability
to use OWA (Outlook Web Access) on your PC. You'll get a free push e-
mail account as well.

Just for the record, Win XP activesync did allow me to sync my contacts, i
have had to reset my Phone including upgrading the ROM and never lost a
contact due to the syncronization feature Windows XP provided me with.

i will check into the website you suggested.

Well... I had windows XP home last time, and i had just downloaded the newest
activesync at the time, and it had a check box much as this one next to
"Contacts" and when i flashed my ROM on my phone the contacts were still
there without having to save them to the SIM card. I'm assuming Active sync
did it.

I dont run any third party software on my phone, it went from facotry grade
- nothing on it, to full of my contacts, tasks, and appointments.
