You don't say what you have now. If it was a new machine in 2004 odds
are that you don't have to change any hardware to run Vista except maybe
add more RAM. It installed and runs fine on my 2003 vintage machine
with 2 gig of RAM.
One caveat--a lot of people seem to be having trouble with sound drivers
right now for the built in chips on many motherboards--music will start
skipping about 20 seconds from the end--a quick and dirty fix is to
spend 30 bucks on an Audigy SE (or more if you want more
capability)--Creative's drivers don't seem to have that problem. But
don't worry about it until you're sure that you're actually seeing the
problem.
