Hi everybody. I am interested in buing a software that will connect with
ArcSDE data through web, publish them on the internet but also have editing
capabilities through web.
More specifically, I want to build an application with ASP.NET that will use
some modules, ocx or dlls that will give me the ability to publish my data
on the internet and also edit them through internet.
Of course with ArcIMS 9.0 I can publish ArcSDE data but can I edit them
through web?,
meaning adding through web features (polygons, lines, points), updating
their
attribute data, etc.
If not, is there any other program doing it? I am not interested in an
application which needs ArcIMS and extends it in order to have editing
capabilities, because I found some of these and they are too expensive. I
need one software that will do it all.

If you use ocx or dlls then you will be editing under Microsoft Windows
only. Ocx or dll doens't work under any other OS then MS Windows. In
that case there is no reason to do that as you can use standalone MS
Windows application for editing GIS data (it will be faster and better)
If you want true editing via www/internet then you must use Java - it
can be run practicaly on every OS and www browser.
