I've written a little system for putting thousands of pages of content
on a database using PHP and .htaccess.
The way it works is you upload 6 files to a directory on your website
and you magically have content. One of the files is a template file so
you can put in your own style and ads. All I ask for is link back
somewhere on your site.
The system works on the three PHP hosts that I have, but I'd like some
feedback from other users with PHP.
You can look at what I've got at:
http://www.paperthetown.com/freecontent.html
I have the following content:
Cancer/Medical - A collection of medical terms dealing with cancer.
(zip file 780k, 4400 pages).
HUD/Housing/Lending - From the HUD website, a collection of over 300
housing and lending terms and their meanings (zip file 127k, 400
pages).
Patents/Trademarks - A Glossary of Trademark/Patent terms used by the
patent office. (zip file 117k, 500 pages).
Insurance Terms - 128 Definitions of common Insurance Terms. (zip file
50k, 150 pages).
Dreams - This is created from a manual of dreams and has 2200 pages of
symbols and signs that might appear in a dream and what they mean. (zip
file 537k, 2200 pages).
Crafts - This is a collection of craft ideas that have been gleaned
from internet user groups. (zip file 190k, 150 pages).
Fitness - A collection of articles on fitness. (zip file 496k, 154
pages).
Business Letters - A collection of Business Correspondence Templates.
(zip file 160k, 327 pages).
Electronics Terms - A collection of definitions of Electronics Terms.
(zip file 408k, 2300 pages).
Medicinal Herbs - A compendium of Medicinal Herbs and their uses. (zip
file 275k, 137 pages).
Pharmaceutical Terms - A glossary of Drug terms. (zip file 118k, 150
pages).
Bread Recipes - 3600 Bread recipes from the internet. (zip file 3,068k,
3604 pages).
1000 Jokes - Actually only 996. Jokes tend to be blue, so be aware
they're not suitable for children. (zip file 685k, 1000 pages).
Cosmetic Surgery Terms - A small starter archive with lots of money
making potential. 86 common Cosmetic Surgery Terms. (zip file 23k, 100
pages).
Dieting Glossary - Definitions of 129 Diet, Obescity, and Weight Loss
Terms. Nice small archive. (zip file 42k, 150 pages).
I have a few more archives that I will be adding soon.

So basicly you make it easier to help cheat adsense and yahoo advertisers?
I sure hope Google and Yahoo learn to find these type of sites and ban them
from displaying their ads.

LOL. :)
And that 6pt text at the left of the page is impossible for me to read
without changing font size. :(

Ignoring the issue that if lots of sites use your content and thus the
likelihood of a high position on a search results page is low, what benefit
do you get from making this available?

When I first saw the subject header, I thought it said "Web
Content-Free" Unfortunately, that's true of too many sites (at
least if, like me, your definition of "content" is "meaningful
content")
