We have a large number of machines for which a number of these are
displaying the following error in the Application Event log:

application popup: wcescomm.exe - Application Error: The application
failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click ok to terminate the
application.

Can anyone assist with what might be causing this problem ? The
installation appears to have been successful and the MSI install
records the install as successful....

Many thanks

T W

Hi,
When does this error occur? Do you have any antispyware applications that
could be conflicting with ActiveSync running?

No we do not have antispyware running. It seems to occur intermittently
even if a user does not have an IPAQ connected. Does anyone have any
more information on this ?

Hi,

I've the same problem (only in dutch)

On PC startup we get following message:
Type gebeurtenis:        Informatie
Bron van gebeurtenis:        Application Popup
Categorie van gebeurtenis:        Geen
Gebeurtenis-ID:        26
Datum:                13/03/2006
Tijd:                9:03:48
Gebruiker:                n.v.t.
Computer:        011967PC
Beschrijving:
Toepassingspop-up: WCESCOMM.EXE - Toepassingsfout : Kan de toepassing niet
juist initialiseren (0xc0000142). Klik op OK om de toepassing te beƫindigen.

The sollution for now is restarting the pc a couple times.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thx

I Solved this by updating Norton AV 8.0 to 8.1 (Corporate Edition)
