Hello,

I have reinstalled WinXP SP2 with all available patches in my laptop.
Thereafter I installed ActiveSync 4.5 Swedish version.
When Outlook 2003 is up and running, I connect HP RX5725 to the
laptop, and start sync.
After a while when ActiveSync is synchronizing Notes, I get the
following error message on screen in the laptop (the message is
translated from Swedish):
WMS Idle: WCESMgr.exe - program Error
Instruction on "0x0455521c" referred to memory on "0x8007000e". The
following error was returned: The memory could not be "read".
Click OK to abort the program.
Click Cancel to troubleshoot the program.

The click on Cancel ends the program too.

Before WinXP was reinstalled, ActiveSync worked as expected.

Any hints ?

Hi,
Possible causes are bad ram or a program trying to block ActiveSync's access
to TCP/IP such as a firewall or antispyware app.

Hello Chris,

Thank you for your reply.

I solved the problem by reinstalling ActiveSync, followed by defing a
new profile, and syncing to the new profile only.
