Hello,

I own the following products:
HP IPAQ hw6515h windows mobile 2003
Vista Ultimate
Office enterprise 2007

I have been using office 2007 and Vista since their Beta release. Several
weeks ago i had installed WMDC. Everything was working just great with
Outlook, OneNote, and all others syncing with my IPaq. Everything was smooth
and life was truly perfect. All installations I had done had run without any
major crashes or errors.

Some days ago everything started to go wrong. I don't know in what point in
time (may be after an automatic Windows update through OneCare), but I
started getting the same error over and over again. WmdHost.exe crashes and I
have to close the application. I have been getting the following everytime:

Description
Stopped working

Problem signature
Problem Event Name:        APPCRASH
Application Name:        WmdHost.exe
Application Version:        6.0.6783.0
Application Timestamp:        45b7b21a
Fault Module Name:        msvcrt.dll
Fault Module Version:        7.0.6000.16386
Fault Module Timestamp:        4549bd61
Exception Code:        c0000005
Exception Offset:        00009b20
OS Version:        6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.6
Locale ID:        3084

Extra information about the problem
Bucket ID:        377164581

I have searched blogs, posts, communities, google, everywhere. I have done
what several people had suggested regarding OneCare Firewall configuration,
ports and what not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled applications found in
the c:\windows\windowsmobile and reinstalled the new drvupdate-86.exe, which
I suspect was downloaded and installed automatically the first time,
replacing whatever application that use to work.

The funny thing : My IPaq is connected (through a USB cable to my PC) and
always shows up in my Explorer. I can access its folders, files and
applications, either through Explorer or Windows Mobile Device Center. And
yes I do see a partnership between my IPaq and my PC.

The ONLY problem is the syncing. My IPaq doesn't sync no more with Outlook.
And sometimes I get some errors from Outlook when I open it saying the
WMDSync.exe has terminated abruptly without closing a .PST file. and that
windows has to rebuilt it. I also reinstalled all of my Office 2007
applications because an error message stated that some elements might be
corrupted. That did note solve the problem.

Has someone out there had this kind of problem or can someone help me with
this?

Many Thanks and best regards,

Christian Tassé

Looking at the crash dump, it looks like an issue with a task item which has
a recurrence. Do you have a lot of tasks which are like this?

Sorry, no.

It seems that the outstore.dat file has been corrupted. You may need to
delete the profile and re-create the partnership

Please make sure that you have WMDC rule turned on in the OneCare
firewall.
OneCare UI>Change OneCare Settings>Firewall>Firewall Connection Tool
Ensure that checkbox against WMDC/Active Sync is checked.
