I have a user that regularly gets dupes in his MS Outlook Contacts folder.
I'm not sure where they are coming from as I have cleared out all the
contacts on his pda (ipaq 6515) and removed as many of the dupes that the
Outlook Dupes finder add-on could find. NEVER had this problem with
Activesync but he is now tied to this less than stellar replacement for
Activesync as he is on Vista.

Any thoughts on why dupes keep appearing?

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom,

If all contacts are available on your PC, would suggest you to first empty
the Contact folder by moving them all into a sub folder and sync this folder
to your device. This will erase all the contacts on the device. Now delete
the partnership and move the contacts back to your main Contacts folder in
Outlook. Run your duplicate finder add-in to ensure you have only a single
set of contacts and then recreate the partnership. See if this helps stop
the dupes from coming.

Is the deletion of the partnership key here? Because I have done everything
else you mentioned and the dupes keep coming back. Is there a way to make
the Outlook contacts the master. I vaguely remember a setting in Active
Sync where you could make this determination. It seems right now the phone
is acting as the master and the desktop as the slave. In other words, I
don't want the pda controlling the Outlook contacts but the other way
around.
