 Having just taken delivery of a C600 with WM5 I was lead to believe that WM5
came with word, excel, PPT mobile software but it appears not. There doesn't
even appear to be viewers for these files?

Is this correct?

 Yes, as far as I have read on other sites that is correct.

I have just received my qtek 8310 and it does not have any Office mobile
application apart from Outlook mobile.

In some cases the smartphone manufacturer provides a CD with 3rd-party
viewers to install on your device.

That is correct. WM5 does have these apps, but not for the Smartphone
version. They are found on the Pocket PC and Phone Edition devices. Since
editing on a Smartphone would be a bit of a chore anyway, the ClearVue suite
of viewers from Westtek are very good. Another option is Repligo, but that
requires you to be able to convert the documents on a PC.

Am I the only person that thinks MS should supply viewers for these apps?

Probably not. But I will say that Westtek has provided better 'viewers' than
MS has on either platform. But that's all Westtek has done. MS has provided
the OS for those viewers to run on, and the opportunity for third parties to
provide applications for them with their development options. Do you really
want them to do all the apps too? And for free I would guess ;)
