I'm running Exchange 2003 sp2 and trying to wirelessly sync my PocketPC
running Windows Mobile 2005. I beleive the setup to be correct, because
ActiveSync on the PDA works perfectly if I use a wireless connection.

My problem is trying to use a GPRS VPN connection, the VPN connection on its
own works OK, but ActiveSync on the PocketPC does not see or use the VPN
connection even if it has been established. Instead defaults to the 'My ISP'
internet connection, then fails.

Am I doing something wrong, or how do I force ActiveSync (PDA end) to use
the 'My Work' settings ie the VPN connection.

I'm assuming that this needs to be working before the AUTD push
notifications will work ?

Cheers for any help....

By default the Connection Manager maps URLs with dots to "The Internet". So
if you want to force ActiveSync to use a "My Corporate Network" connection,
you have a couple of options:
1. Change your server URL to *://*/* (remove dots).
2. Create a mapping exception using Connection Manager CSPs. The CSP you
need is CM_Mappings. The GUID of "My Corporate Network" is
. You can find an example at

Actually there is a much easier way to add an exception to the network
mapping. Just go to Start->Settings->Connections->Advanced->Exceptions and
add your server URL.
