Hello!

I've just bought a Samsung BlackJack II.

I'm very disappointed because I NEED Skype and Gmail for professional
purposes. I bought BJ II because of WM 6 and so I could use those 2
applications.

But none of those work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skype makes my device freeze up to the point of removing the battery! And
ring sound does not work. Nothing work. I know about Skype upgrade to WM 6.1
for WM professional, Pocket PC, but nothing about smartphone. I NEED Skype.
I'm very worried.

Gmail application has been always fine in my devices. But not in BJ II. I
cannot read all messages, I cannot send mails and all the time I have to log
in again.

PLEEEEEEEEASE. any help? Anyone here can use Gmail or Skype in WM 6.1? Any
tip?

I tried to contat Google and Skype support, but they are not good, they do
not reply -- Skype is the worst. I *PAY* for Skype services... :-(

Thanks

The Smartphone (non-touchscreen) version doesn't support WM6.1 yet, as far
as I know. As an alternative you might try Fring (www.fring.com), at least
until Skype releases a new version. It supports Skype, so it'll work with
your existing Skype account.

Why not just setup GMail as IMAP in the Messaging app ather than running
the GMail application?

Thanks! :-)

I'll visit fring.com right now. I didn't know it.

About mail application in WM, I don't like it, it does not sync ok with
Gmail IMAP. I like Gmail's special application. It's excellent.

My pleasure. My only gripes with Fring are the lack of DTMF (touch tones)
support, so you can't use any remote service that requires you to push
numbers on the phone dial, and it's lack of a good dialpad interface.

I really like how it handles multiple VoIP providers in one fairly small
app though- I can keep my Skype, Gimzo, etc. VoIP lines accessible from one
app.

Wish I had a better answer for you about GMail. It works fine as IMAP in
the messaging app for me, except that my "Inbox" is empty and I need to use
the "All Mail" subfolder instead...
