Hello,

I have a Windows XP app that needs to create/edit a cdb database volume
on a windows mobile 5.0 device. Dell Axim x51v.

The RAPI call CeMountDBVol fails beacuse of (Im assuming) security
resctrictions.

Does anyone know of examples of any help in how I would give writes to
this Windows XP program. It is not clear in the examples only to allow
it to connect to a dll and 'sign' the dll. I dont have anything on the
device yet.

This is ONLY a windows mobile 5.0 issue for me.

Any direction would be great.

THanks

Philip

Hi,
I suggest that you contact Dell and ask them about any developer programs
they offer to support your work.

Thank you for your support,

While I mentioned the Dell it is a Windows Mobile 5.0 RAPI issue and is
happening on all shipping windows mobile 5.0 devices, include but not
limited to the Sprint ppc 6700
the Dell Axim x51v and the imate JASJAR

I am confedent that this is a "desired/expected" reaction from Windows
Mobile, and looking for direction in how to correctly work around/ with
this restriction.

Any pointers from people who are working with RAPI in WM 5.0 would be
great!

Philip

Hi,
Since the digital certificate reqirement would have to come from the OEM to
allow you to modify the system they will have to assist you. They locked
the registry so they need to give you the key.
