My network is using 802.1x with an IAS radius server to authenticate
wireless computers to the WLAN. I need to install a user certificate on a
smart phone to enable WLAN access for the phone. When I use the enroll
feature built into my WM 5.0 smart phone (t-mobile SDA) issuing the
certificate fails and the following error is logged...
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: CertSvc
Event Category: None
Event ID: 53
Date: 6/9/2006
Time: 2:08:14 PM
User: N/A
Computer: (my SBS 2003 server)
Description:
Certificate Services denied request 3 because The requested certificate
template is not supported by this CA. 0x80094800 (-2146875392). The request
was for CN=SubjectName-Should Be OverWritten by CA. Additional information:
Denied by Policy Module 0x80094800, The request was for a certificate
template that is not supported by the Certificate Services policy:
ClientAuth.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I understand that this is because I don not have the correct certificate
templates installed. What additional templates do I need to issue a
personal certificate to this device? The currently installed certificates
are, EFS recover Agent, Basic EFS, Domain Controller, Web Server, Computer,
User, Subordinate Certification Authority, and Administrator.
Thank You in Advance,
John
