Hi all,

Is it possible to query against the WDS for specific "kind" of
documents as opposed to just one specific kind.

For example, Is it possible to specify via a query to only return
kind:email & kind:text & kind:music by just using the "kind" keyword?

I really would like to narrow down the returned result set as opposed
to cycle through the entire result set weeding out meaningless
results.

Thanks...

examples that don't work
"microsoft kind:email OR kind:text"
"microsoft kind:(email OR text)"
"microsoft kind:email OR text"

I don't have an answer for you, but hope that one of the developers, who pop in
here occasionally, will step up with an answer.

Hi
I've tested this and it does work using kind:(email OR text). This is
logical to WDS and makes sense, so it does work. However for the other
commands you listed, such as kind:email OR kind:text, it is not logical
to WDS as it would be looking for emails with another parameter of
being texts. The boolean operations work within brackets or for queries
that do not contradict each other (e.g. david OR michael does not
contridict as they are both indexed text, however telling WDS to search
for 2 kinds of documents in seperate commands will confuse it.)

Also make sure the "Everything" button is selected in the WDS interface
when using kind:(email OR text).

Cheers,
David
