I've used the good info in this group to get my .pst file properly indexed.
The key was to do a rebuild of the index with Outlook running. After doiong
so, I had just over 25,000 items indexed. I successfully searched for
various items in Outlook that the .pst was fully indexed.

Since the rebuild of the index I've noticed a disturbing problem though.
Every so often the count of items indexed drops to just under 10,000 items.
I checked things out and sure enough all the.pst information was gone.

I noticed this again yesterday when I had the WDS status window open and
Outlook running. I could actually see the Items indexed so far: counting
down! To fix it I just waited until WDS indexing went idle and clicked on
the Index now button. It is a marginal workaround, but quite time
consuming.

It just doesn't seem to make any sense. Any ideas out there?

Thanks,
Gordon Staley

I had *exactly* the same problem, only I was using the MSN Toolbar version.
I uninstalled, rebooted, then installed the enterprise WDS and it seems to
be holding the index properly.
