After installing and re-installing WDS 3.01 several times, not all File
Types are listed in the Advanced section. My list ends with cwg, so no
extensions alphabetically later are shown. So, other than adding the files
manually with the add extension option, I don't see how I can turn off
indexing on other file types. Having seen the File Types list complete on
other machines, there must be something on mine that is causing this
issue...

Yes, probably an extension {most likely the one just after .cwg has some
kind of error or permissions issue that causes the Control Panel to error
and give up. The extensions are stored in the registry in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.xxx so you might look at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.cwg and see
what the next one below it is and whether it is accessible or whatever.

The next extension is cwk (Appleworks document) and it's inheriting
permissions from as all the other extension are as well. My account and the
SYSTEM account all have Full Control.

Could you send me a reg dump of the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.cwg and
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.cwk keys? {you can post them or send them to "davewood at
microsoft dot com"}.
