Hi Thomas,
Can you uncheck all items under Tools -> Options in ActiveSync and then
attempt to sync. Check if it throws the error. If not, check one
information type at a time and sync. This should help identify which
information type is causing the problem.
Additionally which version of Outlook are you using?
