After uninstalling AS 3.7 which was working fine, I installed AS 4.1 and I =
now receive the error "WCESMgr.exe - Unable to Locate DLL". I'm dead in =
the water. I've tried reinstalling and uninstalling and reverting back to =
3.7. Now, as a result of installing 4.1, nothing works. I show an active =
connection when my iPAQ is docked, but the sync takes all but 1 second and =
I'm unable to open the connection and view it. I just keep getting the =
above error.

Technical details:
Windows 2000 w/SP4
Pocket PC 2002 - HP iPAQ Pocket PC 5455
AS 4.1

Have a look here:

http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/activesync/tshoot-as4x.htm

<quote>
If you have to uninstall ActiveSync 4.x and want to reinstall ActiveSync
3.x, you need to use Add/Remove programs to uninstall ActiveSync 4.x. Then
you need to delete the files C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\RAPI.DLL and C:\WINDOWS
\SYSTEM32\CEUTIL.DLL. Then you can install ActiveSync 3.x normally. Please
note that uninstalling ActiveSync 4.x will delete all your partnerships.
</quote>

As you can read on the Microsoft pages, AS 4 is developed for devices with
WM5. If you're using an older OS version, stick to 3.8:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/downloads/activesync41.mspx

<quote>
Notes
* Faster file transfer speed and photo sync via Outlook are only
available for Windows Mobile 5.0-based devices. For customers using
Windows Mobile 2003 or 2002-based devices, please continue using
ActiveSync 3.8
</quote>

And generally - if it ain't broke don't fix it. :)

ps. please try to post in plain text, not HTML
