While it isn't freeware, PocketPlayer is a great program. I use it to play
my voicemail messages. Actually, I findit to be far superior to windows
media player and use it as my default audio player.

Mark,
When you receive a voice message via email, what do you do exactly to hear
it?
I downloaded and installed the Core Media Player and I'm very happy with it.
However, I'm trying to change the default player in Outlook from "Sound
Manager" and "Windows Media Player 10 Mobile" to "Core" and I have found
nothing that tells me how to change it in outlook.
I am afraid I'll have to hack the registry. I've tried it but thus far no
luck.
When I go to ROOT keys and look for ".wav" I found out the default player is
"sndmgr.exe" for wav files. Do I have to change that to the Core player?
I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance!

I didn't have to set it in Outlook. The PocketPlayer software allows you to
set it as the default player for various types of audio files. I'm not sure
how to do it with the Core player.

There is a page in the Core player configuration to set file
associations to the Core player. Options -> Select Page -> File
Associations. I also set "exit after cmd line playback" in the
Player configuration page, That way I can click a wav attachment in
Outlook and Core will play it and exit.

Thanks, Charles, it's better than a registry hack!
Much appreciated,
Constantine
