I have a USB Audio device plugged into my MCE 2005 computer. The MCE
non-linear volume control characteristics make it impossible to set desired
volume unless you use the mouse on the volume control slider applet. All
other remote/local control volume up/down buttons and knobs are hopelessly
lacking in fine control.

Plugged the same USB Audio device in a Windows XP system, and the controls
work perfectly.

I'm looking for a way to restore the XP style linear volume control on the
MCE system.

Thanks!
