I have tried to transfer an xls file onto my T-mobile SDA via win explorer.
It is showing in the smartphone directory on the laptop but when i try to
open the
file on the smartphone using clearvue worksheet it is not visible.
is there a specific directory that these type of files have to be put into?
The extension has been changed to the pocket pc format pxl i believe.
Any help appreciated.
Marty

Hi, Marty,

I use ClearVue suite on my Motorola MPx220, and it works fine. I do not let
ActiveSync change formats when I transfer them to the StorageCard in the
phone. They open just fine; I think ClearVue uses files in their "native"
mode. Also can view email attachments just fine, too.

That's correct. Clearvue requires office docs to remain in their native
format. Normally a Clearvue install asks if you wish to turn off the normal
AS conversion. You can turn it off yourself by going into AS/ tools/
options/ rules/ conversion settings(button). Use Desktop to device, find
Microsoft excel worksheet, edit and set it to no conversion. If you have a
PPC too, don't worry, Pocket Excel reads native excel just fine. The files
are just a bit bigger than the converted ones.
