Please can someone remind me of the most elegant fix for the way Firefox
fails to vertically align cell content by default?

For example, the second event on:

http://www.westmidlandbirdclub.com/diary/

Thank you.

It doesn't fail to do so.

The cells are vertical-align: inherit, as are the rows, and the tbody is
vertical-align: middle, and the data is aligned to the middle of the cell,
as expected.

You think it does vertically align cell content by default?

Yes.

How could it not vertically align cell content by default? It has to put the
content somewhere, and it would be a very odd algorithm that placed it in a
random position in the cell!

Apologies - having re-read my posts, I see I was not expressing myself
clearly; I meant, of course "vertically align cell content to "top" by
default".
