I have an XV6700 from VZW that I sync'd with Outlook 2002 using AS4.1. No
problems doing the sync of about 1500+ contacts. On the device, if I select
a contact, the individual contact options are displayed (call mobile, call
work, call home, etc). With one of those selected, tapping Call should
initiate a phone call, but it doesn't. However, if I add a new contact, the
new one works fine. That tells me it isn't related to the number of
contacts. I figure it's either related to OL2002, or AS4.1.

In case it's relevant, a little history on the contacts. They were
originally from Palm Desktop. I followed the process of sync'ing PD to the
Palm handheld, reinstalling PD indicating that Sync Manager should sync with
Outlook, and sync'ing the handheld into Outlook. I then installed AS 4.1,
hooked up the XV6700 and sync'd to it.

I can upgrade OL2002 to 2003, but the rest of the Office 2002 suite is
installed and I didn't want to create problems by only upgrading OL.
Comments on this?

The thought of manually re-entering 1500+ contacts is not appealing.

Any suggestions would be appeciated. BTW, I've already talked to VZW
Support, Audiovox Level 1 and Level 2 ActiveSync support. Many hard resets,
but no solutions.

Thanks,
Mark

Just to close the loop in case anyone else has this problem.

I purchased PocketCopy and used it to convert from Palm Desktop to Outlook.
First I deleted everything from Outlook and hard reset the device, then used
PocketCopy. Once Outlook was populated from Palm Desktop, I used ActiveSync
to populate the device. Everything worked fine with calling the contacts.
