I am surprised; other people on this newsgroup have reported
difficulties in installing ArcView 3.x on Windows XP, and it is also
the experience of colleagues of mine. I also inderstand that even if
you can get the main program running, there are extensions that simply
will not work.
Anyway, this is all pretty much moot - as I said before, ArcView3.x is
unsupported and for that reason alone unsuitable for new projects.
Incidentally, I personally continue to use ARC/INFO Workstation, which
I regard as quicker, more powerful and more stable than ArcView or
ArcGIS!
