I have a Linksys Multi Media extender that I would like to "control" from a
laptop with Windows XP Pro Pack 3.
Can I updrade my XP pro to a MCE version?
If yes, can it be done:
A/ Without reformating the HDD
B/ Without migrating to Vista
Then, where can I find the patch or the updrage for that.

Thanks for your help

You can not upgrade to Media Center because it is its own operatiing system.

You would have to re-format the hard drive.

You can still buy Windows XP Media Center 2005 from places such as
Newegg.com

In that case should I go for XP media center 2005 or Vista home premium?

That is your choice.

Read the reviews on Vista and on MCE 2005.
Watch this newsgroup, MCE 2005 has been around for a long while. Vista home
premium is the new kid on the block.

That depends on your hardware, if it supports Vista it's your choice.
