Unresolved Excel file enbentro 09-09-2005

I have a Dell Axim with AS 3.7.1 and Windows 2003. For some reason, an Excel
file that previously syncronized with no problems now will not sync. There
is enough memory on the Dell, and there are no password-protected worksheets
in the Excel workbook. Any ideas as to why this might suddenly occur?

Also, multiple appointments used to display on the Today screen, but now
only the next appointment is displayed. I have checked the Calendar options
on the Today settings screen and confirmed that "upcoming appointments" is
checked, and not "next appointment". I don't know what else to check.

Thanks in advance for any ideas,
enbentro

questions...

is it open on either the PPC or PC?

Have you soft reset the PPC and tried after that?

Have you rebooted the PC and tried after that?

Beverly-

Thanks for your reply. I was getting an error message that read "Cannot
convert file pfDB". A second message read "The process cannot access the
file because it is being used by another process". Both of these appeared
after the file was closed. I tried a low-tech approach and started to copy
the excel workbook, worksheet by worksheet, into a new workbook. That worked
well for 7 worksheets, then the above messages appeared. Perhaps I altered
something in the original worksheet. Then I tried to sync dummy Word &
Notepad files, and received the same messages. However, the problem resolves
after a soft reset of the Dell handheld, and I can then syncronize all 3 file
types. I wonder why this is now necessary after 18 months of syncronizing
with no problems?

The calendar issue persists; not quite sure what that's about.

Thanks again for your reply,
Eric

Have you tried a soft reset before messing around? Backup first.

Thanks for your reply. The soft reset resolves the syncronization problem,
but not the calendar issue. I wonder why this is now necessary after 18
months of syncronizing with no problems?

Thanks again for your reply,
