Does anyone know whether it is possible to use an HP USB IR receiver and
remote control with a Sony Media Center?

Sony does not sell Media Centers in the U.K. and the remote control that
they supply with their entertainment PCs does not have a green button. I
thought I might buy a Sony PC, install Media Center 2005 and use an HP remote
(they look the best in my opinion). However, I am worried that drivers would
not be available for download.

Does Media Center 2005 have drivers that will work with all Media Center
remotes?

Thanks in advance.

It should work without problems.

I'm using a HP receiver in a self-built MCE machine here.

The remote isn't what needs drivers, its the receiver/sensor. They (Media
Center certified) should all be compatible, to my knowledge.
