I am wondering if there is any way to have two active windows at the same
time. I currently have MCE play to my lcd tv and it works very well. The
problem arises when someone else wants to use the computer at the same time.
As the MCE window needs to be active in order to be controlled (eg change
channels), someone else using the computer causes problems. Does anyone have
any solutions for this. Does the new dual core processors offer any help in
this type of situation?

Nope, the way Windows is made says there can be only one "input focus" at a
time. There is no way around this...

Hi Bonzai:
There is a fine solution to your desired use of MCE2005. If you connect
your media center computer to your LCD television thru either an Xbox 360
"core or deluxe model you can utilize all media center functions via the
remote on your tv display and at the same time use your computer monitor to
perform any normal actions simultaneously.....even open a media center window
and use all functions. (requires two tv tuner cards). You can connect the
computer thru a wired ethernet or wirelessly. The Xbox 360 does an excellent
job of displaying your computer tv programs & recordings and all other Media
Center data. The wired fast/ethernet connection allows up to 100 MBs
transfer of data..........thus enabling even HD tv if you have a HD
over-the-air tv tuner card and can receive a signal. The x-box 360 is not an
inexpensive solution but is a really amazing device and I am extremely happy
with mine. The Xbox 360 also serves as a cd/dvd player for movie dvds, music
cds and video games. I found it a great investment for my home theater
set-up. Most recent computers have an ethernet port built-in, so you'll
only need the ethernet cable and a switch-box to set-up the necessary
network.
