I just got mod_perl successfully built and installed (version mod_perl-1.99_16),
and now want to get HTML::Mason working. In trying to get all the required
pieces build, I hit a snag during libapreq-1.3. This bombed in Makefile.PL
for the following reason:
bash% perl Makefile.PL
mod_perl 1.x ( < 1.99) is required at Makefile.PL line 29.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at Makefile.PL line 31.
Think it'd be OK to just update the Makefile.PL to accept the more
modern version of mod_perl? Or might this break something badly?
Dtes on files in libapreq-1.3 are back in 2003, which may not
have anticipated mod_perl versions this high...
Any suggestions?
Oh, and I did try ppm to install this (Linux), and got this trying
to fetch a prerequisite:
Install 'Params-Validate' version 0.72 in ActivePerl 5.8.4.810.
