You can take Visual Studio 2005 or 2008. With 2008 you have the
advantage of choosing between .NET Compact Framework 2.0 or 3.5. You
will also need Windows Mobile 6 SDK (free download) in both cases.

There is only one advantage of Visual Studio 2005. You can take the
Standard Version to develop mobile software. With 2008 you will have to
purchase Visual Studio 2008 Professional which is a bit more expensive,
but worth the price.

Hallo,

Is there also the standard version 2005 for free trial download or
only Professional edition?

I have not seen a Visual Studio 2005 standard trial version. But what do
you need it for. You can downloads the professional version and have a
look a the feature list to see is anything you need will be left out in
the standard version. You will often have the bigger versions as trial
versions, so you can try more features (and be convinced to spend more
money).
