We have an Exchange 2003 SP1 environment which contains one front-end and one
back-end server. The front-end server sits in our DMZ and has SSL
configured. We are trying out a couple of the Treo 700w's and would like to
test the ActiveSync functions, but recieve the following event id on our
front-end server:

Source: Server ActiveSync
Event ID: 3007

Exchange mailbox Server response timeout: Server: [server_name]
User:[user_email_address]. Exchange ActiveSync failed to communicate with the
Exchnage mailbox server in a timely manner. Verify that the Exchange mailbox
Server is working correctly and is not overloaded.

I have ActiveSync 4.1 installed on my pc and when the phone trys to sync I
get the following message:

The server could not be reached. This can be caused by temporary network
conditions.

Support Code: 80072ee4

From the Treo 700w, I am able to open IE and go to our OWA server and login
as well as go to OMA and login.

Can anyone help figure out what is going on?

Thanks
Eric

Did you ever get this figured out? I am seeing the same issue along with an
EXPROX 1000 event complaining about NTLM vs. Kerberos authentication?

I did get this resolved. First I found out that we had to be running
Exchange 2003 SP2. Second, I had to go to our OWA server and export the root
certificate for Verisign and install it on the phone (copy to phone and click
it to install).

Hope this helps.
Eric
