Hi,

I'm curious to know what features are available if I buy a Treo 650
unlocked and don't connect it to any phone service. I owned a pre-
wireless Palm many years ago and need only the functionality that that
offered, such as scheduling, note taking, phone book and the ability
to plug into my home computer, plus the modern conveniences of a
camera and mp3 playback.

I really don't want to pay the monthly data fees. I hate fees. I
already have email and web surfing at home and at work. I don't need
those when I'm on the toilet or hiding from the mafia behind a
dumpster in a dark alley.

Thank you,
~ Lori

Hi,

The Treo 650 will work very well as a normal Palm pda even without the
phone service.

Are you sure it won't always be 'hunting' for a network???
Thanks.
Andrew.

Without a valid SIM, no, it'll probably show "invalid or missing SIM" if you
try to turn the GSM radio on.

Palm's Treo devices can turn the "radio" portion on or off independently
of the PDA (which actually stays "on" all the time, and is not related
to whether the screen is on or off)
