I recently had a problem with my iPAQ 5550, which was as a result of a faulty
battery. I sent my pda off to HP who replaced the battery under warranty. On
its return I eagerly went to back up the data from my desktop computer,
however, my desktop currently has a fault on it so when I have been working
on it for a period it then shuts down on its own accord. It always shuts down
prior to the data transfer has completed therefore meaning I have to start
again.

I do have another desktop pc and therefore would like to copy the data files
from one pc to another. How do I do this? And what file and folders do I put
it into?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

The pim data is stored in outlook's "pst" file.

You can make a copy of this file on the original PC, then, on the new
pc, backup outlook if there is anything you need to save, delete
everything and use file/import...

The select "from another file..." "personal folder (pst)" and select the
file from your original pc.
