Transfer AAC files without using Windows Media Player? snoconegod 04-02-2007

Hey folks,

This one's got me a bit stumped. I've got a rather large library of
AAC files (CD rips from iTunes), but no solid way to transfer them to
my Motorola Q. I can use Windows Explorer, and the files will
transfer and will play, but the song information is lost. WM5
helpfully says that I need to use Windows Media Player to move music
(including song data) to my device, and that works all fine and dandy
for my limited MP3 and WMA collection. But it does absolutely nothing
for me with all these AAC files!

Is there something else I can do short of 1) reentering all the song
data using the device's keypad (ugh!), or 2) converting my AAC files
to the poorer-quality MP3? Perhaps there's a third-party program out
there I don't know about or an iTunes (or WMP or ActiveSync) hack?

Is it just me, or has the old Apple-Motorola partnership been a bit of
a letdown?

Thanks very much!
John
