Touchpad Driver WITHOUT acceleration??
I'm trying to find a touchpad driver that works
with Windows98SE on a Gateway 5300 Laptop.
I can't find any actual 98 touchpad drivers for this machine
on the Gateway Site.
I found Synaptics Drivers that have nice taps and scrolls
and gesture support. Perfect...EXCEPT, they get faster mouse
speed by using acceleration. To get enough speed to get
across the screen, the acceleration factor is so high
that my hand-eye coordination is shot.
Need DETERMINISTIC, CONSISTENT relationship between my finger
and the mouse pointer.
The Logitech Drivers know how to do high speed without using
acceleration. Touchpad behaves as it should...but the scrolling
features suck.
The Alps drivers work great on Alps pads, but don't seem to want
to load on the laptop.
I expect this is all driver and hardware version dependent.
Can anyone give me a pointer to a touchpad driver that can do
what I want?
Or maybe there's a registry setting I can tweek to get rid of
acceleration and crank up the gain on the Synaptics drivers?
Thanks, mike
