I am thinking of buying a Laptop but not sure which to go for, I am
looking at a Toshiba M40X-189 or an Acer Aspire AS1691WLMi. Are either
of these any good. What are the graphics capabilities on laptops, with
regard to photo/video editing, games, etc. The processor is an Intel
centrino 730 1.6Ghz, this sounds slow compared with my P4 3.2 desktop
but not sure if they should be compared by speed in Ghz. These laptops
come into my price range Max £800, and I would appreciate your
comments.

Personally, Between those 2 I would go for Toshiba, Í used to work for a
company which sold Acer, Sony and Toshiba laptops, and we stoped selling
Acer because they were costing us too much time in after sales service.
Myself, I want a Sony:)

It takes the Acer UK Service Centre more than a month to swap out a
faulty harddrive and return the system, if that makes any diference.
My sister bought a Toshiba - it seemed fairly solid and she hasn't had
any trouble with it.

I decided to stay away from Toshiba because of the terrible reviews
I found on the web for the Tecra S2 and Tecra M4.
These reviews complained that the laptops were noisy and got very hot.
It's impossible for me to decide to buy an S2 reading the review, someone
knowledgeable
on this would be appreciated.
They didn't so much dislike the machines as hate them.
I only find good things about the A3 though, but it's a bit below my
expectations.
