 Hi,

I have a Tecra running a P4M 1.6Ghz, what is the fastest P4M that I can
put in it's place?

First, identify the chipset with the Intel Chipset Identification
Utility (www.intel.com). I think this also identifies the CPU. Then,
go to the CPU page and see what the chipset speed range is and if the
chipset supports a given speed.

You can cross-check at Toshiba on the Tecra 9100 support pages to find
the range of CPU speeds issued with the laptop.

Your major problem will be finding a replacement CPU. eBay might have
one if you can verify both that the chipset will support it and Toshiba
indicates that the 9100 mainboard was designed for that CPU speed.

I upgraded my 1.8GHz to a 2.2GHZ as it was fastest that model supported.
If yours maxes out at 1.8 can give you a deal.
