My friend is trying to decide between two notebook computers that are
being offered to him and needs some help deciding which one he should
get. The choices are either

A Toshiba Satellite M105 or

An IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad Z61M

I'd appreciate any guidance that may be offered so that my friend makes
the right choice.

Thanks.

I never owned IBM. But some people claim they burn out in less than 5
years. The laptops I have purchased are:

Epson PX-8 Geneva ('84)
Sharp PC-4501 ('89)
Toshiba T1950CS ('94)
Toshiba 2595XDVD ('99) I have two of them
Gateway MX6124 ('05)

So that is 6 laptops over 20 years. And the only one that doesn't work
anymore is the T1950CS. Poor design, no fan. So the laptop basicily
cooked itself. All the rest still works fine. And the first two don't
have fans either, but they don't need fans.
