i have a new toshiba satellite a205-s5859 laptop computer and everything
is working wonderful! It has windows vista installed (so far so good)
but my memory card reader wont register that a card is inserted or
anything, i have not used it until now or even checked to see if it
worked. I got my computer less than a week ago. Does anyone have some
tips or hints on getting it to work? Thanks kellyns24

If yours is like mine (I have a Toshiba A215-S5825 - 3 mos. old), it
only reads the following types of memory: 5-in-1 Bridge Media Adapter
Secure Digital, Memory Stick™, Memory Stick PRO™, Multi Media Card, xD
Picture Card [shared slots]. If you're trying to read some other kind
of card (and you didn't say), you just can't get there from here! :-)
If you're trying to read one of the listed types, then you should
contact Toshiba support. One thing they'll want you to check is the
Device Manager. To do this, right click COMPUTER, then click
PROPERTIES->Device Manager and look at the entry "SD host adapters". If
there's an exclamation mark or question mark there, you've definitely
got a problem; if not you're going to have some problem determination
work to do.
