Hi folks. I need some help getting this old clunker working again. I
have a second-hand Toshiba Satellite 3000 that came with Windows XP.
The machine was running really slowly so I decided to wipe the drive
and reinstall Windows. While old, this machine works fine for playing
music off of my home server.

I wiped the hard drive and installed Windows 2000 Professional. The
problem is that I cannot get Windows to recognize the wireless network
card. In Device Manager there are two unknown PCI Devices listed with
the usual question-mark icon. From each device's property pages, I
obtained the following info:

PCI Device
PCI bus 0
Device 31
Function 3
I/O Range 1810-181F
IRQ 10

PCI Device
PCI bus 0
Device 31
Function 6
I/O Range 2400-24FF
I/O Range 2000-207F
IRQ 10

Assuming that either of these unknown devices must by the wlan card, I
attempted to install the wlan driver that I downloaded from the
Toshiba web site. Windows complained saying that it could not confirm
that the drive would function correctly.

Any suggestions?

What is the actual PCI card manufacturer & model #?
It will be easier to find a compatible driver based on card specific info.

Ah, yes ... good question.

There is a sticker on the bottom of the laptop that says "Contains
radio device MiniPCI card PA3070U-1MPC"
