 I have a Toshiba Portege 660CDT. The BIOS is set to CARDBUS/16 bit
(instead of PCIC Compatable) running Windows 98SE.

I was able to install a 10/100 Ethernet card without any problems.

When I add a Buslink USB Card, Windows starts to show that is detecting
a Root USB Hub and then it lock up and freezes.

Any ideas?

You must install the driver before you insert the card. Win98SE will
not have a driver; it must come with the card.

Good point. I failed to mention. Before inserting the card, I did
install the software that came with the card.

Once I slide the card in, Windows starts detecting a Root USB Hub and
freezes.
