I've a Qtek 8020 with Tom Tom 5.20 installed and a GPS receiver Holux
GPSSlim 236.

The stuff works only if i assign the name "TomTom Wireless GPS" to
bluetooth receiver when I make the link between phone and receiver.

I spent many time to find this solution so, I hope to help who have the
same problem.

Ciao
A.

The solution is to buy the retail version (if as is likely you have a pirate
copy) or to use the TomTom supplied BT GPS that came with the pack if yours
is legit.

TomTom Mobile is not available as a software only package and is hence
intended to work only with the supplied Tomtom GPS.

I have to disagree (with one part of the post). Why, on my legit.
version, is there an option to choose between the TomTom GPS unit and
"Other Bluetooth GPS" if the software "is hence intended to work only
with the supplied Tomtom GPS."?

Beacuse it was a feature that was never implemented, mainly because of the
widespread piracy of the app :(

Thanks for that. Because I've got the TomTom GPS unit I would never
have realised. Perhaps TomTom should take the option screen out - then
people wouldn't even try it on.
