Please log in for more thread options 1. Plug the phone directly into a USB port on the computer, *not* into a USB
hub.
2. If you have two USB cables that will work with the Mini-USB port on the
device, try both cables.
3. Disable the Windows XP firewall, if that's what you are using (or at
least enable exceptions in the settings). If that's *not* what you are
using, what *are* you using?
4. Disable or uninstall virus scanning software, if the software scans
everything going into the PC. That is, if you are scanning all network
traffic, this can interfere with ActiveSync.
5. Are you using a virtual private network (VPN), to connect to, maybe, your
work network from home or something of that sort?
The phone (I have an iMate K-Jam), works fine, generally, with Active Sync
4.2beta, so I don't see any problem being the fault of Active Sync, although
there are lots of opportunities for other network, firewall, and virus
software to interfere.
