Tmobile Dash problem with Activesync in WM6 David Rashkovan 07-19-2007

I am having a strange problem. Ever since I upgraded a Tmobile Dash device
to Windows Mobile 6, I am having problems with the device. The server is an
SBS 2003 server. When I turn the device on from scratch, everything works
fine. Email, internet, full synchronization over the air. However, if I then
turn the phone portion off and then later turn it back on, email or internet
will not work. The only way to get it to work again is to shut down the
device completely and then turn it back on again. At that point, everything
works fine again.

Here are a couple of interesting points. I completely swapped out the device
for a new one with the same problem. I removed everything from the device to
get it back to the factory original without my exchange information on it.
Everything worked fine including internet. When I shut down the phone
portion only and restarted it, everything was fine. I did not have to
perform the full shutdown. I tried configuring a completely different
exchange server with the device and the same thing happened. When I connect
the device by a cable to the Vista workstation running Windows Mobile Center
6, everything works fine initially. However, if I turn the phone back on
after turning it off and connect it to the wokrstation, I will get a "proxy
server" error and it will not syncronize via cable. Once again, when I do a
complete restart, it synchronizes fine without the error.

This is a strange one. Any assistance here would be helpful.

Thanks, David

Hi,
Have you contacted T-Mobile regarding this issue? They should be able to
assist you with identifying whether it is a bug or not.

I have contacted them. They shipped me a brand new device. They have never
heard of anyone else having the problem.

Hi,
Then let's focus on the server - is Service Pack 2 installed? Is there any
e-mail scanning software installed?

Service pack 2 is installed. I should mention that I tried connecting to
completely different server in a different domain with a differnet email
address and I had the exact same problem. I am using Norton Antivirus
corporate edition on both servers.
